Pingping GouPingping was born in Beijing and grew up in Xi’an, a famous old city in Middle West of China. She received her B.Sc. from University of Science and Technology of China. Her graduate thesis was about chemical hydrothermal synthesis of one-dimensional nanomaterials. She received her Masters degree from Brown University. Her research project at the time was synthesis of inhibitors for protein tyrosine phosphatases. She started Ph.D program at University of Pittsburgh in September of 2005. Pingping is currently working on organic synthesis of ion templates for carbon nanotube based chemical sensors.
