This instrument is the main instrument on the red-light 76-cm Thaw f/18.6 refractor. Photos of the instrument are included on this web site. These stars are a mixture of parallax and perturbation targets. They include two star clusters, white dwarfs (WD), M dwarfs, and subdwarfs as well as a few stars that may be moving at nearly the escape velocity of the Galaxy. Numbers are given to regions once they become seriously considered as targets for the program. Many are dropped as it becomes evident that they are not as interesting as supposed. This is sometimes based upon a set of 3 observations which indicate that the parallax of the object will not be large. For initial tests of the precision see the chart on this web page. Initial parallax results are also available. Bright stars are observed through ND filters of 2.5, 5.0, 7.5, and 10.0 magnitudes. A similar precision is obtained for ND filtered and non-ND filtered stars. * The AMAC, which has a deep voice, is usually called Mac.
