Welcome

I'm a research assistant professor in the Physics and Astronomy department at the University of Pittsburgh. My research is focused on understanding the growth and evolution of galaxies as traced by changes in the abundance of chemical elements in their gas and stars. I developed a code called flexCE to make theoretical predictions for the chemical evolution of a galaxy over its lifetime. On the observational side, I am applying machine learning methods to the spatially-resolved spectroscopy of the SDSS-IV MaNGA survey to extract information about gas properties.
