This site is designed as an educational resource for students in the Nurse Anesthesia Program at the University of Pittsburgh, although others are certainly welcome.

ARE YOU A VISITOR TO THIS SITE???  if so, please read........
This site was originally constructed as a class assignment for the NURSAN 2720 (Applied Physiology and Pathophysiology) course in the spring of 2003.
Update Credits: Individual webpage re-design and revision by Richard Hennessey (Class of 2003) -- December 2003.  Additional modifications by Chris O'Stafy (Class of 2006) -- March, May, and October 2005.  On-going updates by Laura Palmer (Faculty, NAP).
Students in 2720:  To assist your study for the Anatomy Competency Exam, basic study questions have been added at the end of all of the sections EXCEPT:  Brain, Cranial Nerves, Spinal Cord, Larnyx, Cardiac, Central Vasculature, Lung and Liver.  These areas had additional anatomy content covered within the course and contain only the additional study questions.
DISCLAIMER:  Each first year Nurse Anesthesia Program student prepared a "self-study" section to assist with learning anatomy, and this site was created to share this information with classmates.  These materials have not been "peer reviewed" and the accuracy is not guaranteed.
Navigation hints......Click on a section and the collection of associated materials will appear in this window. When you select the materials to review, they will EACH open in a new browser window. This will allow you to use the webpage without loosing your place in the website, or open multiple pages at one time.
