Research Interests

• Biotransformations/Biocatalysis: Enzyme-mediated efficient and environmentally safe, stereo-, chemo- and regio-selective synthesis of monomers and polymers using lipases.
• Bioconjugate Chemistry: Synthesis of bioconjugates of biodegradable polymers with ligands such as aptamers, antibodies and peptides specific to Bacillus anthracis and Bacillus subtilis
• Research and Development: Design multistep synthesis, process development and scale up of Beta-lactam antibiotics (Cefaclor, Amoxicillin, and Cefuroxime axetil), Macrolides (Clarithromycin) and synthesis of various drug metabolites.
• Phytochemistry and Pharmacognosy: Isolation and characterization of novel constituents from plants of medicinal uses.
