ENGR 0715 - Engineering Applications for Society

About Me:

I am from New Brighton Pennsylvania. I went to Beaver County Christian School in Beaver Falls, PA. My hobbies and interests include music, singing, visual art, acting, reading, soccer, and watching movies. I enjoy math and science and think that engineering is a good way to combine my creativity with my technical thinking abilities. I chose Pitt because it was near home but not too near, it gave me lots of scholarships, and provides a variety of learning opportunities. Furthermore, Oakland is a beautiful and fun place to live, and so is Pittsburgh in general. This service learning class is a good way to make Pittsburgh even more beautiful and fun. I think I would really enjoy civil engineering because I find structures such as buildings and bridges very interesting, I am interested in the idea of green construction and sustainability, and because civil engineers provide some of the most basic, most needed physical elements of society - essentials of infrastructure such as roads and water supply systems.
