- New Friends
- While I have many real close friends at home, it is very exciting to meet new people and make new friends. I am already forming close relationships with some and becoming friendly with many others. There are many more people to interact with who have the same interests, talents, and beliefs as me.
- Atmosphere
- I love the University of Pittsburgh's campus as well as the city of Pittsburgh. It is not too big, but is still a busy and growing city. There is so much to do and see and it is almost impossible to get bored. There are great sports teams to watch at the professional level as well as the collegiate level.
- Freedom
- I am finally on my own and can make decisions by myself for the most part. I can do what I want on the weekends, hang out with who I want, and even study or do homework when I want. With this, however, are consequences and it is teaching me to grow up and become a more responsible and mature person.
- Classes
- Although the classes are much harder than in high school, I like the way my schedule is set up much better. I only have a few classes a day and usually start at 11 AM and end by 4 PM with a few breaks in between. You usually have a couple of days to do assignments and the recitations help you to understand difficult concepts.
- Opportunity
- Pitt offers a wide range of majors and learning opportunities. You can graduate with a degree in almost any field of engineering, study abroad, co-op, go to graduate school and much more. If you decide that you don't want to study engineering and would rather major in something else, Pitt has many other prestigious departments and colleges.
- Sports
- Pitt has a nationally recognized Division 1A athletics program that always does well in almost every sport. You can see five home football games against Big East rivals for only $25 or sit in the "Oakland Zoo" and watch the nationally ranked men's basketball team play exciting games. If your not good enough to play at this level, there are countless club and intramural teams to join.
