Kursi pictures

The excavated and partially rebuilt church at Kursi probably erected in the 4th century. Note the black basalt used in construction.

In a side room of the church there is the remains of an olive oil press (the wood obviously added after the excavation.) Pamela explains the workings to Wayne.

Like many structures of the area and era, there was a mosaic floor. Above is a surviving portion.

A spot on the hillside possibly marked the location of "the evil spirits into the swine" event. The lake was higher then, covering even the area where the church was built later.
