GRADUATE

* Decision Analysis and Decision Support Systems

A two-people group project with a task of building an influence diagram using GeNIe, which is a software developed by Decision Systems Lab of Information Science Department to build graphical decision-theoretic models, with a focused topic to identify and analyze influencing variables contributing to the presence of a particular disease called psoriasis based on the dataset of both genomic and gathered variables, and also expert opinions.

* Interactive Systems Design

A group project who worked with a faculty as a client to redesign and provide ease of use of an existing online diagnostic tool website based from the knowledge of interfaces, interface design and evaluation, and programming Web-based interactive systems theories learned in class. Final result of the website: http://barcelona.exp.sis.pitt.edu/

* Information Systems Analysis

Specifically focused on the topic of taking care of the elderly because of the lack of physicians specializing in gerontology, we took a perspective as one of the system stakeholders (e.g. doctors, nurses, family members) to create a web-based system that will assist caregivers in caring the elderly patient.

*Database Management

Created a Data Warehouse Systems for business decision support by building an on-line transaction processing (OLTP) systems utilizing ORACLE server; The required operations are for customers to be able to browse the items, update transactions, error checking, and decision support.

UNDERGRADUATE

*Advanced Business Computer Programming JAVA

Built an on-line cake store website by utilizing Macromedia Dreamweaver, MySQL as the database to store information of the cakes, and Tomcat as the web server to display the actual website.

* Information Systems Analysis and Design

Analyzed the Employment Systems of the Human Resource Department from Target Corporation by using Visible Analyst draw the Data Flow Diagram, Entity Relationship Diagram, Use Cases Diagram, and Class Diagram.

* Distributed Data Processing

Elaborated a company’s network security systems by explaining what the IT department does in the company, what the network security policy is, how the company handles the virus attacks, what software the company uses to handle the attacks, and also provided some recommendations for the company to improve their network security.

*Database Management Systems

Applied the materials learned in class by creating database with Oracle database sever.

*Multimedia Business Application

We utilized Flash and design skills in producing a combined-modules of semi-interactive Flash movie in order to educate and entertain children about animals such as name learning, by presenting it in short flash movies and well-coordinated layout design of the application.

This project does not perfectly have all functions and features finished, as we were only required to finished at least one object to be completely functioned.
