Alex Patterson I was born on 28 November 1988, somewhere in northeastern central Pennsylvania in a place called Danville. I've spent my whole life in a small borough of about two hundred people, called Washingtonville. Growing up, I played on the local baseball team, enjoyed adventures in the outdoors, and played very many games, of all sorts. In middle school, I became involved with robotics(the Danville Ironbots), which sparked my interest in electrical engineering and control. During my robotics career, I competed in many national competitions and two international competitions in Italy and Germany. In high school, I pursued my interests in robotics, played on the golf team and baseball team, participated in Science Olympiad, and was a member of National Honor Society. I enjoy playing games of all sorts, especially PC strategy games and board games, listening to music, and playing guitar. I am involved with Engineers for a Sustainable World's "Lights Out" and "Hydrokinetics" projects, the Robotics and Automation Society at the University of Pittsburgh, and I look to do undergraduate research in the future. After graduating from the University of Pittsburgh, I plan on attending graduate school to further my education in bioengineering. As a career, I would like to do research in the biomedical field, combining electrical engineering, bioengineering, and control to solve future problems.
