Dorsett wins Heisman
In his four-year career at Pitt, Tony Dorsett established many NCAA records—most yards gained, most seasons gaining 1,000 yards, most seasons gaining 1,500 yards, most rushes, most yards rushing, most yards gained in a season.

Dorsett finished the 1976 season with 1,948 yards—an NCAA record—and 23 touchdowns. He won the Heisman in a landslide, with more than 80% of voters placing him first on their ballots.
