Parking in Oakland
Parking can be tricky in Oakland, especially during an exciting and busy time such as commencement weekend. If you take your time, arrive early, and plan well, you can avoid hassles, traffic, and fines.
University of Pittsburgh parking lots will be open beginning at 8 a.m. and will be free for graduates and their guests. Accessible shuttles will be running from the parking lots to the Petersen Events Center. Shuttle service will begin at 10:30 a.m. and will continue running until two hours after the ceremony.

Wherever you park your vehicle, make sure that you’re not in an area that would place you in violation. Garage parking, parking lots, and on-street parking will be available near campus all weekend. Lots are operated both by the City of Pittsburgh and by the University.
