Admissions

Undergraduate

A recent report from the Middle States Commission on Higher Education called Pitt’s undergraduate programs “impressive” in both variety and strength. And with a student-to-faculty ratio of 16:1 and more than 60 percent of classes with fewer than 30 students, undergrads at Pitt have the opportunity to interact with world-class faculty.

Graduate

Many of Pitt’s 200 graduate degree programs rank among the top in the nation both academically, and in federally funded research support. These rankings demonstrate the University’s excellence in educating research scholars and preparing leaders in the professions.

Enrollment Up

Since 1996, enrollment at Pitt has increased by more than 2,600 students. At the same time, admission has become more selective; 46 percent of first-year students graduated in the top 10 percent of their class, compared to 22 percent in 1996.
