PARC maintains a station in 466 Benedum Hall with HF, VHF, and UHF capabilities, including ATV. In addition to the station equipment, PARC has an assortment of amateur radio books and tapes to help members obtain their first license, or for experienced amateur radio operators to upgrade their existing licenses.
Repeater
PARC also operates an open repeater that is located on top of The Cathedral of Learning, which is approximately 544' located in the Oakland neighborhood (15213) of Pittsburgh. It operates on 443.45 MHz (+5.0 MHz offset, PL 100 Hz) with a power output of 40 Watts and a gain of 5 dB. The repeater operates under the call of W3YJ. The Repeater Trustee is Harry Bloomberg, W3YJ. The repeater consists of a GE Master II Mobile Radio, modified by Andy, WA3PBD, and an ACC-96 Controller. An autopatch is also active. The repeater is connected to the Internet using Echolink.
