Based on poet and playwright Langston Hughes' adaptation of the classic nativity story, "Black Nativity" is marking its 24th year at Pitt, bringing a distinctive multicultural holiday experience to the city.

Psychiatry Professor Rebecca Thurston recently led a study that demonstrates how experiences such as the death of a child or being in a car accident or natural disaster are linked to later vascular health issues that place women at risk for heart disease.


More than 150 people from Pitt and the University’s dining service offer 2,500 Christmas meals to individuals and families in need at the annual Christmas Day at Pitt event. Pitt staff and faculty also donate gifts for children and gift bags of hats, gloves and other cold weather essentials.
