| Three of the 3,041 flags placed on the lawn of Pitt’s Cathedral of Learning the morning of Sept. 11, 2002, were marked with blue-and-gold bows—a special tribute to the three Pitt alumni who lost their lives on Sept. 11, 2001: Kevin Marlo, CAS, Class of 1995; Margaret Quinn Orloske, M.A., Library Science, Class of 1974; and Ludwig John Picarro, CAS, Class of 1979. One additional flag was decorated in blue and gold to represent the University community. |
