International Relations

The Department of Political Science at the University of Pittsburgh invites applications for an open rank position at the level of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor in international relations. The position is not restricted by subfield within international relations The search criteria for the advertised position include: (1) an active research program within the candidate’s area of specialization, (2) the ability to teach courses at both the undergraduate and graduate levels in the candidate’s area of specialization, and (3) the ability to teach a seminar on international relations theory at the graduate level. Candidates will be expected to play an important role in both the department’s undergraduate and graduate programs in international relations. For applicants seeking a position at the level of Assistant Professor, strong preference will be given to those who have completed all requirements for the Ph.D. degree prior to the start of the appointment (i.e., Fall 2008).
