Custom Regalia

Why Order your own Academic Regalia?
Every year, hundreds of educators discover the many advantages of owning their own caps, gowns and hoods. Convenience, of course, is partly responsible for this growing trend. Everyone appreciates having their regalia ready at a moments notice, for every academic ceremony, baccalaureate, convocation or speaking engagement. And owning means an end to ordering and returning countless rentals. There is also pleasure in looking your best with a gown that is custom tailored to your measurements, a perfect fit at all times. Owning also allows you the freedom to select a premium fabric no available in rental gowns while saving the cost of those repeated rentals. Your Oak Hall academic regalia is as personal to you as the honor it represents. Many colleges and universities have established their own distinctively different designs and colors for their academic regalia. Oak Hall has been privileged to assist many presidents, trustees, and regents in the design of special regalia for their school.

Tassels
Academic hoods are designed to represent your scholastic degree, discipline and Alma Mater. The official design of the academic hood has been specified by the American Council on Education. The velvet trim represents your discipline and the satin lining represents the official colors of your College or University.
Headwear

The traditional mortarboard cap and dignified velvet tams are carefully tailored to complete your Oak Hall gown. Tams are available in eight, six and four corner styles. Choose from the traditional silky tassel or the Doctoral two button tassel which is available in the metallic or silky style.

Tropical Wool

Since the introduction of this fabric, it has grown to be our most popular. Tropical Wool is a lightweight yet strong worsted wool blended fabric that is comfortable both in winter and summer making it "seasonless". Wool absorbs up to 30% of its own weight in moisture, which means it absorbs body vapor, keeping you from feeling damp or clammy. The use of long staple fibers makes worsted wool naturally wrinkle resistant. Dacron/Wool Blend.

Venture

A 100% polyester gabardine that is a very durable fabric with an added finish that releases stains easily.

Pavillion

A 100% polyester faille, Pavillion is a very rich looking traditional fabric with horizontal lines. Pavillion drapes beautifully but is very tightly woven causing it to be a warmer fabric that is recommended to keep you comfortable in colder seasons. A slightly brighter fabric that tends to capture light very elegantly.

Dalton Crepe

Historically Dalton Crepe has been one of our most popular fabrics. A 100% polyester crepe, Dalton is two-way textured, causing the weave to be smoother and giving the fabric more substance. Dalton Crepe is a very breathable fabric, meaning that it doesn't trap in heat. Dalton Crepe is also treated with a stain release finish.

Peachskin

This is a new fabric that has the luxurious feel of suede but in a lightweight 100% polyester fabric. Perfect for special ocasions, but with performance that will allow you to wear it everyday. The softness of the material creates a graceful flow as you move. Extremely durable and wrinkle resistant.

Regency Poplin

Economically priced, Regency Poplin is a blend of 65% Fortrel and 35% Cotton. Because of the cotton content, Regency Poplin tends to wrinkle as well.
