Please answer either of the following questions but not both and indicate which question you are answering with the letter A or B on the cover page along with your name and todayÕs date. Your answer must include the five tissuesÑepithelia, connective, blood, muscle, nerveÑand I suggest you follow an outline based on points 1, 2 and 3 (below).
You can take the entire period or leave whenever you are finished. In my experience, a good answer will take at least ten well-illustrated and well-written pages or something more than an hour of drawing and writing.
Please use pencil drawings as much as possible, but write with a dark ball point pen, and write on every other line if you tend to have small handwriting. Please leave wide margins if you would like me to comment on your answer. If you don't, I'll assume that you are not interested in my comments and won't oppress you with them.
A) In your opinion, what tissue(s) came first, and how did the other tissues evolve?
B) What do the five tissues have in common, and what distinguishes each of them?
In answering either question, you might consider each of the following points.
(1) Specific characteristics make one tissue different from another.
(2) Some characteristics are shared by some tissues but not others.
(3) Particular characteristics of some tissues may be related or similar to characteristics of other tissues.
IÕm curious about your opinion of tissues,
but your grade will not be based
on opinion. Your grade will be based on how well you have described
ALL the tissues, drawn cogent comparisons, and made apt contrasts. Beyond these specifics, your grade will be inversely proportional
to major errors. Spelling
will not count as long as I can figure out your intention, but correct spelling
and attention to grammar always improve clarity, and clarity helps me understand
your answer.

Please answer either of the following questions but not both and indicate which question you are answering with the letter A or B on the cover page along with your name and date. Your answer must include the seven systems discussed since the last hour exam, namely circulatory, integumentary, skeletal, hematopoietic, immune, respiratory and digestive.
You have 110 minutes for the exam or something in excess of 15 minutes for each system. You can take the entire period or leave whenever you are finished. I imagine that a good answer will take at least ten well-illustrated and well-written pages or something more than a page per system, including drawings with labels and captions.
Please draw with pencil but write with a dark pen, and write on every other line if you tend to have small handwriting. Please leave wide margins if you would like me to comment on your answer. If you do not, I will assume that you are not interested in my comments and will not force them upon you.

In answering either question, you might consider the following points.

(2) What characteristics are shared by some systems but not others?
(3) What characteristics of any system may be related or similar to characteristics of other systems.
I am curious about your opinion, and I hope it will help you organize your answer, but your grade will not be based on my opinion of your opinion. Please answer either of the following questions but not both and indicate which question you are answering with the letter A or B on the cover page along with your name and date. Your answer must include at least three of the five systems discussed since the last hour exam, namely urinary, female/male reproductive, endocrine, brain and special sensory organs.
You have 110 minutes for the exam or something in excess of 26 minutes for each system if you confine your answer to three systems.
