Earth Awareness Enrichment Program--a traveling interactive K-12 enrichment program featuring the Earth Balloon, a 22' model of the earth that students enter to learn about the changing earth. Students learn about rain forests, the ring of fire, the solar system, plate tectonics, scale, seasons, timezones and more.

Hilton Pond Center for Piedmont Natural History--near York, South Carolina, Hilton Pond Center for Piedmont Natural History is a non-profit organization whose Mission is "to conserve animals, plants, habitats, and other natural components of the Piedmont Region of the eastern United States through observation, scientific study, and education for students of all ages." The Center is the most active bird banding station in the Carolinas with more than 41,000 birds banded and is an education site for the federally endangered Schweinitz's Sunflower. Its Web pages include informative text and photographs of flora and fauna that can be found in most habitats in the eastern U.S. Included are descriptions of the Center's long-term bird banding research projects (including hummingbirds) and "This Week at Hilton Pond," a pictorial account of natural changes through the seasons. Teachers, students, parents, birders, and conservationists will find this Web site to be a rich source of information about all sorts of nature topics.

Miss Maggie's Earth Adventures--a free multimedia program for those interested in promoting environmental education for grades 4, 5 and 6. Miss Maggie's Earth Adventures is a state-of-the-art, animated program that teaches kids about a host of environmental concerns including over fishing, organic farming, animal extinction and more. Designed for teachers and students, the program documents Miss Maggie's travels around the world through a series of interactive scavenger hunts presented by website or on cd-rom.
The presentation offers striking graphics and audio, challenging games that
teach and reinforce learning skills. There are lesson plans with activities and a teacher's guide. All materials are based on Unites States educational guidelines for classroom use. This program is absolutely free to anyone interested in promoting environmental education!
