The University of Pittsburgh and Carnegie Mellon University have a special concentration in philosophy. They have two Departments of Philosophy, a Department of History and Philosophy of Science and a research institute, the Center for Philosophy of Science. The partnership was formed to recognize the extensive informal collaboration between these four entities and to foster further cooperation.
