Examine these search results or re-sort them by clicking on the column headings—Relevance, Title, Sponsor, Deadline, and Amount. To view a COS record at the search results screen and under Grant Title, select a program. Further details of the limitation are explained in the Deadline Note Field.

Refine or broaden your query, as necessary, by clicking on the Refine Your Query hyperlink located at the top of the COS search results screen. This link will take you to another search form that allows you to add terms to the current search strategy. (Note: the checkmark remains in the Limited Submission field box).

Then to find opportunities only in your area of expertise consider using the All Fields category as it permits full text searching across all the available text fields. If there is a term or concept for which you are interested but are uncertain exactly how it would be used, or in which field(s) it would appear, you may wish to try searching for it in All Fields. Try to identify synonyms or related terms to include and terms or ideas you want to exclude from your search.

Or use the Keyword Field to make use of controlled vocabulary terms. These COS keyword terms succinctly describe the areas to which funding opportunities pertain. They are assigned to each COS funding record. To access or search for terms, click on the Browse button in that field box to open a separate keyword browser window to make your selection.

Finally, click on the Do the Search button at the bottom or top of the search screen to generate a new list with results that match your current criteria.
