RESEARCH:
I have served as a member of the Institutional Review Board at The Medical Center, Beaver and was the Advisor to non-physician research-related projects within the organization. Because the majority of my professional career has been in the service arena, my research projects are limited to my master thesis entitled, A Preliminary Study Investigating Senior Diploma Student Nurses’ Perceptions and Application of Community Health Nursing Concepts and doctoral research entitled The Willingness of Home Health Nurses to Accept Specific Role Function as Characteristic of an Expanded Role for Nurses and the Factors Associated with that Acceptance.

TEACHING:
At the University of Pittsburgh , I teach in the Clinical Nurse Leader and Nursing Leadership/Administration Programs. My previous teaching experience includes a position at Geneva College in the Master of Science in Organizational Leadership Program and positions in the undergraduate and graduate nursing programs at the University of Pittsburgh and Carlow University . I was also on the faculty of the Master of Health Education Program at Penn State University .

SERVICE:
Currently I am a member of the Duquesne University Alumni Board. I chair the Professional Advisory Team for the Incarceration to Independence Program at Jubilee Association and serve as a healthcare consultant volunteer at World Vision. I speak on “Humor” to a variety of religious, professional and community groups. I am a Lector, Eucharistic Minister and member of the Choir at St. Paul’s Monastery.
