Clinical Expertise:
My area of greatest experience is in Trauma
and Elective Orthopedic Surgery and Plastic Surgery. I have functioned
in staff nurse, manager, and Clinical Nurse Specialist positions
in this specialty in both the inpatient and outpatient settings.
I also have clinical experience in Pediatrics and Urology.
TEACHING:
As a part time clinical instructor for the University of Pittsburgh
School of Nursing I have taught NUR 0080 and 0082 since 1999 on
a general medical unit as well as assisting in the skills lab for
NUR 0080. I have also had the opportunity to teach Junior and Senior
nursing students at a Level I trauma center on the Cardiothoracic
surgery and Orthopedic surgery units.
Service:
As a member of the Wellness Committee at my church I participated
in the initial development of the program, defining the job description,
hiring of the parish nurse and have participated in blood pressure
screenings as part of the current wellness ministry.
