Welcome...
...to the Web site for MLA's 76th annual
meeting, a joint conference with the Society for
American Music. The University of Pittsburgh Library
System and the
Local Arrangements Committee look forward to seeing
you all in February.
Content will
be added to this site as it is available. If you
don't find what you are looking for, the list of
contacts
will probably guide you to someone who can help. Information
on exhibits is not yet available.
The Local Flavor section will be available soon and will be
updated several times over the next few months, so
check back occasionally to find out about
interesting things to do and see in Pittsburgh.
The
background images of Stephen Foster, the Cathedral
of Learning, Jonathan Borofsky's sculpture "Walking to the Sky," and
Dippy-the-Dinosaur were created by local artist
David McKulka. These images represent music collections in
the Pittsburgh's Oakland neighborhood—the Center for
American Music, the University of Pittsburgh,
Carnegie-Mellon University, and the Carnegie Library
of Pittsburgh—and together will be
featured on the conference program cover as shown in
the image above.
There are two versions of this site: text only, and text with graphics. You can switch between
versions using the "Text Only" and "Text and Graphics" links. The text only version is printer-friendly; the text and graphics version, not so much.
Information on special programs, such as MOUG, the
silent auction, the résumé review service, and the buddy
program can be found
in the Special Programs
section.
PDFs of the forms and fliers that went out to MLA
members with the conference mailing packet are available
in the Forms section.
Your 2007 MLA
Local Arrangements Committee is:
Jim Cassaro, chair,
Kirby Dilworth, Kristin Heath, Steve Henry, David
King, Lisa Lazar, Kathryn Logan, Terra Mobley,
Carlos Peña.
