New Web Site Highlighting Pittsburgh Living
A new Web site, called Cool Pittsburgh! available at http://www.coolpgh.pitt.edu/ was designed to inform both new and prospective graduate and professional students about the benefits of living in Pittsburgh. The site highlights exceptional aspects of the city as identified by current students, such as Pittsburgh’s affordable living, abundant cultural opportunities, green space and green living, accessibility, and diverse ethnic neighborhoods.
NRC Assessment of Research Doctorate Programs
In 2006, the University of Pittsburgh will be participating in the National Research Council (NRC) assessment of research-doctorate programs. The assessment will provide benchmarking data on graduate programs throughout the United States and will result in ratings of graduate program quality. The data will be published in an online, searchable database available to the public. Click here for more information.

Pitt Graduate Student Awarded a 2-Year AHA Pre-Doctoral Grant
Ms. Stacy Waksmonski, a graduate student in the laboratory of Dr. Jeff Brodsky was recently awarded a 2-year American Heart Association pre-doctoral grant for her study entitled "Identification of factors involved in the endoplasmic reticulum associated degradation of apolipoprotein B".
