Sports Medicine Fellowships
The Primary Care Sports Medicine Program at the University of Pittsburgh was created to complement and augment existing sports medicine efforts within the University of Pittsburgh and the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. The two accredited primary care sports medicine fellowships are at UPMC St. Margaret and at UPMC Shadyside. Drs. McKeag, Somogyi, Jenkinson (Orthopaedics), Harner ( Orthopaedics), Fu (Orthopaedics) and Stone (Orthopaedics) are primarily responsible for this excellent fellowship. Pittsburgh is the only major city in the country to offer two such accredited fellowships. Major teaching efforts within the sports medicine program are geared to training medical students and residents.
