Notice to Prospective Majors

Check Your Schedule: Click here for instructions. As soon as you have checked your schedule, you can come to 1117 CL for an Add-Drop Form to take to Thackeray Hall. You now need an advisor's signature to Add-Drop.

Listen up!

Prospective Majors: You will need to pass all three intro courses (COMMRC 0300, 0310, and 0320) with a C or better before you apply to become a major. To apply, please see your Arts & Sciences advisor or go to the CAS Dean's Office at 140 Thackeray.

Jennifer and Eric Spiegel Essay Competition: Win $250 towards purchase of books for your 500-1000 word communication essay. The purpose of the award is to encourage and foster scholarship in the department. Deadline for submission and more information available. Contact john Gareis for more information at 412-624-1138 or gareis@pitt.edu.

Communication Internship Help: Information on finding and qualifying for an internship is available on our Internship and Resource webpages.

Spring Courses: You can look up course times and availability for Spring courses at My.Pitt.Edu. Log in, then click on "Communities" on the top-bar.Add-Drop Procedures: Once you have been registered, and you have accessed your schedule online, you can acquire an Add-Drop form from:

1. CAS Advising Office, 252 Thackeray Hall, or
2. Communication Dept. Main Office, 1117 CL
Fill out your Add-Drop form and take it to the Registration Office on the Ground Floor of Thackeray Hall. You now need a Communication Advisor's signature to Add-Drop.
