Bon's Collection of Rolling Stones Books

I began collecting Rolling Stones books regularly in 1984. Since then, I have amassed over 80 books and continue searching for more. Below is my personal list, alphabetized by author/editor last name, along with a brief description for each book, written for the purpose of helping fans determine which ones may be the most useful or worthwhile to own depending on one's needs or preferences. Those that are my favorites and are recommended are marked with an asterisk (*). Please note that many of these books are now out of print. If you are looking for them, I'd suggest trying second-hand (used) bookstores or online at Amazon.com or on auction sites such as EBAY. Note: Often books are reprinted/reissued under different titles. Be aware that some are indeed updated, with new information added, while others are simply the same book with a new title. The Appleford book is a good example of the latter; it's the same book!

Aeppli, Felix. THE ROLLING STONES 1962-1995: THE ULTIMATE GUIDE (1996)*

- text w/b&w photos; large, expensive, thorough (to 1995), limited edition book listing all of the Stones' recordings through 1995; includes information on live performances, bootlegs, solo releases; a few errors, but possibly the most complete Stones reference book (minus bio); essential if interested in such info; I hear you can now buy the cd version of this which has been updated to 2003

Aftel, Mandy. DEATH OF A ROLLING STONE - THE BRIAN JONES STORY (1982)

- text w/some b&w photos; average bio on Brian Jones; research/information based on people who "knew" Brian; keep in mind that author is also a "psychotherapist"

Aldridge, John. SATISFACTION - THE STORY OF MICK JAGGER (1984)

- text & photos; average brief bio about Mick up to 1982

Andersen, Christopher. JAGGER UNAUTHORIZED (1993)

- mainly text w/a few photos; very trashy bio written about Mick's exploits (as is the author's trademark), particularly his supposed sex life with men and women and heavy drug use; NOT a balanced analysis; Mick fans in particular may find insulting (NOTE: this guy gets off on writing sensational books about famous people, including Princess Diana; he recently wrote a bio on Keith which I have yet to read since I don't think I could stomach the rehashed, uneven material)

Appleford, Steve. THE ROLLING STONES - IT'S ONLY ROCK 'N ROLL: SONG BY SONG (1997/2001)*

- text w/color and b&w photos; chronologically lists all offically released albums and songs by the Stones w/general information & stories about them - NOT session info; a few errors but good; reissued in 2001 under the new title RIP THIS JOINT: THE STORIES BEHIND EVERY SONG

Barnard, Stephen. THE ROLLING STONES - STREET FIGHTING YEARS (1993)*

- oversized text w/color and b&w photos; decent general bio of band w/brief intro written by Bill Wyman; worth having for good less common photos of all the Stones taken by Randolph

Bockris, Victor. KEITH RICHARDS - THE BIOGRAPHY (1992/1998/2003)*

- text w/a few photos; unauthorized bio on Keith drawn more from other bios, articles, interviews; author writes "seductive" prose which makes the book interesting, but tends to be too sensational as well; good mainly for update on Keith since Charone's book

Bonanno, Massimo. THE ROLLING STONES CHRONICLE - THE FIRST THIRTY YEARS (1990/1997)

- oversized reference style book w/photos; chronologically lists each year and important day of the Stones' career w/information up to 1990 (new edition with Voodoo Lounge and Bridges to Babylon tour info issued in 1997)

Booth, Stanley. THE TRUE ADVENTURES OF THE ROLLING STONES (1984/2000)*

- all text; author had a contract to write book; had complete access to the Stones during their 1969 tour and lived with Keith for a few months; information gathered from firsthand experience with the band as well as interviews; well written and researched; odd chapter fluxuation between the Stones in 1969 and the earlier days circa 1964/65; a.k.a. DANCE WITH THE DEVIL: THE ROLLING STONES AND THEIR TIMES (reissued in 2000 with new introduction by author)

Booth, Stanley. KEITH - STANDING IN THE SHADOWS (1995)

- text w/ b&w photos; decent bio on Keith, but text too much a collection of known and borrowed information; some sections too brief; barely addresses Keith's life in the late 1980's/early 90's; prose is nice, but book is much weaker than one on the Stones (True Adventures); a.k.a. KEITH - 'TIL I ROLL OVER DEAD (uk)

Brown, Mick. MICK BROWN ON PERFORMANCE (1999)*if interested in the movie

- text w/a few color photos; part of the Bloomsbury Movie Guide series (no. 6); set up in alphabetical format, noting relevant names, terms, etc. regarding the movie "Performance"; very informative; great for those who are interested in facts about the movie

Cahill, Marie. THE ROLLING STONES - A PICTORIAL HISTORY (1990)

- oversized; text w/ color and b&w photos; average brief text (printed in large font); nothing special but some of the large photos are nice

Carr, Roy. THE ROLLING STONES - AN ILLUSTRATED RECORD (1976)*

- text w/ color and b&w photos; chronology by year up to 1976 of Stones' history; includes album releases, tour info, and bootlegs; even though an older book, worth owning, especially for good promo/concert poster photos

Carter, David. THE ROLLING STONES (1992)

- text & photos; average brief bio on the Stones w/ better photos than most general books

Charone, Barbara. KEITH RICHARDS: LIFE AS A ROLLING STONE (1979/1982)*

- text w/some b&w photos; good bio about Keith and his activities with the Stones; focuses on Keith in the 1960's & 70's including the 1977 drug bust; author is supportive and a fan

Cooper, Michael (w/Terry Southern & Keith Richards). THE EARLY STONES - LEGENDARY PHOTOGRAPHS OF A BAND IN THE MAKING, 1963-1973 (1992)*if you like photography

- great rare b&w photos w/ anecdotes by primarily Keith and Southern; Cooper, a friend of the Stones, made what he called a "personal record" of the band through his photography; unfortunately, he committed suicide in 1973

Coral, Gus (w/text by David Hinckley & Debra Rodman) THE ROLLING STONES: BLACK AND WHITE BLUES 1963 (1995)

- text w/ rare b&w photos of the Stones during their 1963 tour; text ok, captions of photos too silly/dumb; includes photos of Bo Diddley (who was on the same bill)

Coral, Gus. ROLLING STONES 40 x 20 (2002)* if you like photography

- photos w/ text; a collection of various photographs of The Rolling Stones through the years taken by various famous photographers; of the 80 photos included, only approximately 1/4 have been published elsewhere; interesting anecdotes from the photographers included (some with notable timeframe errors i.e., The Stones were practicing on Long Island, NY for the 1975 tour, not 1981!); recommended for beautiful shots

Daily Mail, The. THE ROLLING STONES: UNSEEN ARCHIVES (2003)

- various b&w and color photos from The Daily Mail newspaper (UK) with some text; shows the Stones through the years; includes some rare photos; particularly nice if you don't happen to own many Stones photography-related books

Dalton, David, ed. ROLLING STONES (AN UNAUTHORIZED BIOGRAPHY IN WORDS, PHOTOGRAPHY, AND MUSIC) (1972)*

- text w/ color and b&w photos; good collection of rarer photos & articles (many found in Rolling Stone magazine) about the Stones w/ some written by Dalton; includes album reviews of Satanic Majesties, Beggars Banquet, and Let It Bleed when they were originally released; also has songs w/ lyrics & music up to 1972 in back of book

Dalton, David. THE ROLLING STONES - THE FIRST TWENTY YEARS (1981)*

- oversized text & photo book; a collection of various articles and stories about the Stones, with a number written by Dalton; good collection of information with oddities such as fold-out blue print of Keith's guitar and National Inquirer-like insert stories

Dalton, David, ed. THE ROLLING STONES (AN UNAUTHORIZED BIOGRAPHY IN WORDS AND PHOTOGRAPHS (1979)

- text w/ b&w photos; various articles and stories written about the Stones during the 1960's/70's, mainly by Dalton; smaller than his other collected works Stones books

Dalton, David & Mick Farren, compiled by. THE ROLLING STONES IN THEIR OWN WORDS (1985)*

- text w/ some b&w photos; good collection of quotes by the Stones on various subjects up to 1985; needs another update

Davis, Stephen. OLD GODS ALMOST DEAD: THE 40 YEAR ODYSSEY OF THE ROLLING STONES (2001)*

- text w/ a few photos; a detailed, unauthorized biography of The Rolling Stones covering their entire career; while not always insightful or accurate, this may now be the best bio available about the group; some errors, but an interesting read, even for the most schooled Stones fanatic

Dimmick, Mary Laverne. THE ROLLING STONES: AN ANNOTATED BIOGRAPHY (1979)*

- all text; contains information through 1977; well researched and thorough information on articles (and some books) written about the Stones, including historical analysis of each time period; good reference; author is a long time fan (and very nice woman - I met her!); if only I could convince her to do the next volume! ;-)

Elliot, Martin. THE ROLLING STONES - COMPLETE RECORDING SESSIONS 1963-1989 (1990/2002)*

- all text; well researched book on all songs released by the Stones; songs listed in chronological order, some with brief information included; also notes bootlegs; would benefit from adding a few photos of releases and more recording process info; NOTE: an updated edition of this book was released in 2002 with photos; somewhat difficult to find, but newer edition worth owning

Ewing, Jon. THE ROLLING STONES - QUOTE UNQUOTE (1996)

- text w/ some color and b&w photos; rehashed collection of Stones quotes on various subjects over the years; incorrect photo citation; limited value; weak book considering that author is a music journalist

Flippo, Chet. ON THE ROAD WITH THE ROLLING STONES (TWENTY YEARS OF LIPSTICK, HANDCUFFS, AND CHEMICALS (1985/1989)*

- all text; a first-hand account of what it was like to be on tour with The Rolling Stones in 1975; like Booth, this author had access to the Stones, but mainly between the years of 1975-1979; includes references to world events in this time period; good book but could be longer (only 175 pages); extra bonus: the 1977 Royal Canadian Mounted Police report on Keith's drug bust! (reprinted in 1989 under the title, IT'S ONLY ROCK AND ROLL: MY ON-THE-ROAD ADVENTURES WITH THE ROLLING STONES)

Frick, David & Robert Sandall. THE ROLLING STONES - IMAGES OF THE WORLD TOUR 1989-1990 (1990)

- strictly text & photos about this tour; ok if specifically interested

Giuliano, Geoffrey. THE ROLLING STONES ALBUM - THIRTY YEARS OF MUSIC AND MEMORABILIA (1993/1995)*

- large book mainly consisting of great color photos of various Stones memorabilia including albums, picture discs, books, promos, and magazines; brief intro text by Giuliano w/ explanatory captions by items; excellent resource for collectors; NOTE: the collection comes from Chris Eborn, NOT Giuliano!; reprinted as NOT FADE AWAY: THE ROLLING STONES COLLECTION in 1995

Giuliano, Geoffrey. PAINT IT BLACK: THE MURDER OF BRIAN JONES (1994)

- text w/ a few photos; book supposedly "proves" that Brian's death was not an accident, but as he does in other books, Giuliano uses unnamed sources; faulty logic in arguments/proof; brings up a few good points regarding unanswered questions about Brian's death which makes you wonder what really did happen, but overall the book is just sensational journalism; good specific info on how Brian was a troubled young man even before he met the other Rolling Stones

Goodall, Nigel. JUMP UP - THE RISE OF THE ROLLING STONES, THE FIRST TEN YEARS, 1963-1973 (1995)

- text w/ color and b&w photos; general bio specifically from 1963 through 1973; so where is the next volume?

Goodman, Pete. OUR OWN STORY BY THE ROLLING STONES (1964/1970)

- mainly text w/ a few b&w photos; average bio of the Stones during the beginning of their career; supposedly updated in 1970 but only added 5 pages to cover nearly 5 years!

Gruen, Bob. THE ROLLING STONES FEATURING KEITH RICHARDS (1988) *if a Keith fanantic

- mainly b&w and color photos w/ limited text; Japanese import; very nice photos of Keith from 1972-1987 with and without the Stones taken by Gruen

Gruen, Bob. CROSSFIRE HURRICANE: 25 YEARS OF THE ROLLING STONES IN THE USA (1997)*

- expensive, signed, limited edition (1750 copies) book published by Genesis Publications Ltd.; various color/b&w photographs of the Stones 1972-1997 taken by Bob Gruen; includes anecdotes by Gruen (better than Putland book); leather cover; glossy photos; beautiful

Greenfield, Robert. S.T.P. - A JOURNEY THROUGH AMERICA WITH THE ROLLING STONES (1974/1997)*

- text w/some photos; a detailed book about the 1972 tour as it happened, along with author's personal insights; Greenfield gives the "inside scoop" about the people involved with the tour; recommended especially if interested in this tour; (reissued without photos unfortunately in 1997)

Hector, James. THE COMPLETE GUIDE TO THE MUSIC OF THE ROLLING STONES (1995)

- Cd size; text w/ color and b&w photos; good quick reference book on all official Stones albums and songs released up to 1995 w/ info on each

Hotchner, A.E. BLOWN AWAY - THE ROLLING STONES AND THE DEATH OF THE SIXTIES (1990)

- mainly text w/ a few photos; trashy/sensational book about the dark side of the Stones and the 1960's; draws on a collection of interviews from lesser known Stones associates and friends and lists each separately instead of incorporating into prose; take with "a grain of salt"

Holland, Jools. THE ROLLING STONES: A LIFE ON THE ROAD (1998)*

- text & photos; a large book consisting of photographs taken of the Stones on tour through the years (up to 1997), complimented by anecdotes from the Stones themselves; worth owning for the beautiful and rare photos seldom seen in such clarity and in a historical collection

Jackson, Laura. HEART OF STONE: THE UNAUTHORIZED LIFE OF MICK JAGGER (1998)

- text w/ a few photos; a biography about Mick and his various relationships with women; author presents him negatively, but then again, Mick doesn't have the best reputation when it comes to women; some interesting lesser known historical ancedotes about Mick & the Stones; overall, an interesting read but take it for what it is: an unauthorized book; author also wrote biography about Brian Jones

Jackson, Laura. GOLDEN STONE - THE UNTOLD LIFE AND TRAGIC DEATH OF BRIAN JONES (1992)

- mainly text w/ a few photos; a decent bio on Brian using direct quotes/anecdotes from family and friends; somewhat sensational at times despite the fact that author attempts to stay away from Brian's legacy as a druggy and womanizer

Janovitz, Bill. EXILE ON MAIN ST. (33 1/3 book series) (2005)

- I recently received an advance copy of this book from the publisher and will be reviewing it soon. FYI: the book will be on sale in North America in early March and in the rest of the world around April 1, 2005.

Jasper, Tony. THE ROLLING STONES (THE GREATEST ROCK 'N ROLL BAND FROM THE SIXTIES TO THE PRESENT DAY) (1984/1976)

- average text & photo book; includes important dates/history listing; a bit too heavy on critical analysis in conclusion

Kallen, Stuart. THE ROLLING STONES (PEOPLE IN THE NEWS) (1999)

- text w/ a few photos; written for a young adult audience, this book is more of a reference item found in libraries; useful basic info

Kamin, Philip & Peter Goddard. THE ROLLING STONES - THE LAST TOUR (1982)

- text w/ b&w and color photos of the 1981 tour; includes specific venue descriptions and photos; poor judgement in choice of title obviously

Kamin, Philip & James Karnbach. THE ROLLING STONES IN EUROPE (1983)

- mainly photos w/brief text introduction; good color and b&w photos of the 1982 European tour

Karnbach, James & Carol Bernson. IT'S ONLY ROCK 'N ROLL: THE ULTIMATE GUIDE TO THE ROLLING STONES (1997) *

- text w/ some b&w photos; foreward by Mick Taylor (described as "a Rolling Stone forever!"); very detailed reference book with chronology of the Stones' history, schedules of tours & concerts (with some set lists), official and bootleg releases; good info on Stones' videos, film, and tv performances; a few errors and incomplete set lists, but useful to own, especially if you don't have Aeppli's book; bonuses: very humorous Japanese translation of Get Off of My Cloud and a photo of Keith in an astronaut uniform from a 60's tv show!

Kruger, Sebastian. STONES BY KRUGER (1994) *if you like art

- oversized "art" book; great drawings/caricatures of The Rolling Stones w/ a few quotes; very interesting!

Lysaght, Alan. THE ROLLING STONES: AN ORAL HISTORY (2004)

- a collection of quotes/anecedotes incorporated into prose from the Stones (and Stones associates/friends) about the Stones' 40 year history; chronologically written with subject headings, but reader may not be able to tell date of actual quote; many quotes taken from interviews during 1982 tour which can be a problem (insights may differ at various points of career); fans may recognize some paraphrased quotes from live interviews; overall, a decent book, but not all-inclusive

Mankowitz, Gered. SATISFACTION: THE ROLLING STONES 1965-1967 (1984/2002) *if you like photography

- photos w/ intro text; a collection of photographs of the Stones taken by Mankowitz from 1965-1967; as an upcoming young photographer, he was introduced to the Stones via Marianne Faithful and Andrew Loog Oldham; he chronicled the Stones' career indepth during these years, including shooting their "Out of Our Heads" and "Between the Buttons" album covers; worth owning for the interesting and beautiful rare shots; (reprinted in 2002 under the title, THE STONES '65-'67)

Marks, J. MICK JAGGER: THE SINGER NOT THE SONG (1973)

- mainly text w/ a few b&w photos; bio of Mick written in a dramatic journalistic style which gets annoying; too much critical analysis at times; information goes to 1969 with a brief reference to 1972

Martin, Linda. THE ROLLING STONES IN CONCERT (1982)

- general, brief text & photo book about the Stones and their tours up to 1981

Miles, compiled by. THE ROLLING STONES - AN ILLUSTRATED DISCOGRAPHY (1980)

- text w/ b&w photos; small reference book on Stones albums, session guests, bootlegs, solo releases; good but less relevant today since it is outdated and there are better books on the market

Miles, compiled by. MICK JAGGER IN HIS OWN WORDS (1982)

- text w/ photos; good collection of Mick quotes on various subjects such as his life, being in the Stones, and Keith; good for collection if ever updated

Miles. THE ROLLING STONES - A VISUAL DOCUMENTARY (1994) *

- text w/ nice color and b&w photos; chronologically lists each important year and day of the Stones' career with information; may be slightly better than Bonanno's book

Needs, Kris. KEITH RICHARDS - BEFORE THEY MAKE ME RUN (2004)*

- text w/b&w photos; great bio of Keith through 2003; not only is the author a fan, but he interviewed Keith a number of times throughout the years and thus, refers to his articles and some personal experiences as well; uses other sources (books/articles) to present a pretty thorough account of Keith's life (personal and with the Stones); also includes a few rare tidbits of info that even the most schooled Stones fan may not know; a few minor errors but is the Keith bio that I would recommend most to interested readers (although some of it will be repetitive if you have read other books)

Norman, Philip. SYMPHONY FOR THE DEVIL - THE ROLLING STONES STORY (1984/1992/2001 w/ new title)*for early days

- mainly text w/a few photos; a seemingly complete bio of the Stones up to 1982 but emphasis is really on the 1960's; author was granted interviews with Mick, Keith, and Bill during the 1981/82 tour for information; typical "journalistic" book (author isn't necessarily a big fan); reissued in 1992 and 2001 with the new title, THE STONES

Norman, Philip. THE LIFE AND GOOD TIMES OF THE ROLLING STONES (1989)

- oversized; mainly photos w/ brief captions (in large font); author seems to now be anti-Stones; makes negative comments and fails in his attempt to be amusing; little overall value

Palmer, Robert. THE ROLLING STONES (1983)

- large photo & text book; good general bio of the band and their activities in the 1960's/70's (mentions the early 80's); includes rarer photos by famous photographers

Paytress, Mark. THE ROLLING STONES - OFF THE RECORD (2003)*

text w/b&w photos;

a collection of quotes and anecdotes from the Stones and Stones' associates/friends about their 40 year history; truly chronological (either by day/mo/year, month/year, or season/year) and thus easier to follow compared to Lysaght's book; also seems more indepth

Paytress, Mark. THE ROLLING STONES FILES (1999)*

- b&w photos & text; an interesting collection of photographs and reports by The Daily Mirror newspaper (uk) 1964-1974; many photos are outtakes or were not used; arranged chronologically, it gives a good sense of how the Stones were viewed during this time frame

Phelge, James. NANKERING WITH THE ROLLING STONES (1998/2000)* if interested in personal accounts/early years

- text with only a few b&w photos; James Phelge lived with Mick, Keith and Brian at Edith's Grove in Chelsea as the Stones were just beginning and about to become famous (1963); many interesting, funny (and gross!) ancedotes from James regarding his experiences with the Stones; a fun book from his viewpoint but without seeking fame and fortune

Putland, Michael. PLEASED TO MEET YOU (1999)*

- very expensive, signed, limited edition (1750 copies) book published by Genesis Publications Ltd.; various color/b&w photographs of the Stones 1972-1986 (mostly on tour) taken by Michael Putland; could use more text/ancedotes; boxed; glossy photos; beautiful

Quill, Greg. THE ROLLING STONES 25TH ANNIVERSARY TOUR (1989)

- text & color photos; average brief bio on the Stones through the years w/ photos and information about the 1989 tour; note title "anniversary": book conveniently released

Randolph, Mike. THE ROLLING STONES ROCK 'N ROLL CIRCUS (1991)

- mostly large b&w photos w/ brief intro by Michael Lindsay-Hoog, director of Circus film; nice photos of all artists, etc. at Circus performance including many not published elsewhere

Rawlings, Terry & Keith Badman. GOOD TIMES BAD TIMES: THE DEFINITIVE DIARY OF THE ROLLING STONES 1960-1969 (1997) *

- text w/ color and b&w photos; chronologically lists each year and important day of the Stones' career during the years of 1960 through 1969; worth having for rarer photos

Rolling Stone (magazine). THE ROLLING STONES (ROLLING STONE INTERVIEWS 1968-1975) (1975) *

- text w/ color photos; good collection of Stones articles published in Rolling Stone magazine from 1968 through 1975; would be better if all articles were included; worth owning however

Rolling Stones, The. ACCORDING TO THE ROLLINGS STONES (2003)*

- text w/ color photos; a large, nearly all-inclusive biography of sorts written "by" the Rolling Stones - taken from recent interviews of Mick, Keith, Ron, and Charlie who look back on their 40 year career as a band; includes essays written by Stones music industry friends; recommended, but would have been stronger if Bill Wyman and Mick Taylor were included

Sanchez, Tony. UP AND DOWN WITH THE ROLLING STONES (1979/1996)

- text w/ a few b&w photos; very trashy book written by a drug supplier to the Stones in the 1970's; while has some accuracy at times, keep in mind that the "author" changed some stories; book was obviously written and released for pretiege and money;(updated and reissued with added chapter in 1996) NOTE: this guy published a book in 2003 entitled, I WAS KEITH RICHARDS' DRUG DEALER, full of rehashed info from his first book. If this title doesn't tell you what this guy is about, then you just don't get it. Absolute garbage.

Sanford, Christopher. MICK JAGGER: PRIMITIVE COOL (1995/1999)

- text w/a few b&w photos; one of the more thorough and interesting bios of Mick; probably the one to read out of all of them; includes excerpts from Mick's FBI file! NOTE: author recently published another bio of Mick which I haven't read yet.

Sanford, Christopher. Keith Richards: Satisfaction (2003)

- text w/a few b&w photos; a slightly above average bio about Keith and his life; much of the info is already known, but there are a few interesting stories; some readers may find the British dialect somewhat difficult to read; author's personal comments about some things (Jones' death/Thorogood and the cover shot photo for Dirty Work) are unnecessary/insulting; a few errors throughout; includes stories about the other Stones as well (somewhat off topic)

Scaduto, Tony. MICK JAGGER: EVERYBODY'S LUCIFER (1974)

- text w/a few b&w photos; a somewhat trashy bio of Mick (inside cover where Mick is described as a bisexual should give you a clue); author's writing style is too dramatic

Schofield, Carey. JAGGER (1985)

- text w/a few b&w photos; average bio of Mick to 1985; error in caption of Mick and Ron photo (noted as "Woodie"!)

Seay, Davin. MICK JAGGER - THE STORY BEHIND THE ROLLING STONE (1993)

- text w/a few b&w photos; standard bio of Mick; way too condensed: sums up the 1980's/early 90's in less than 20 pages!; somewhat useful for information regarding earlier years/time with Bianca and Jerry Hall

Smith, Sean & Dale Lawrence. STONE ME! THE ULTIMATE ROLLING STONES QUIZ BOOK (1999)*if you like trivia

- quite thorough; authors are fans - they decided to assemble this book while waiting in traffic after a 1995 Stones concert at Wembley Stadium; covers the Stones as a group and solo; great book for those who like to know every minute detail about the group

- all text; Bill's personal account of his experiences with The Rolling Stones taken from his diary; interesting to hear his perspective and description of the Stones; some details are tedious to read however; notes his many conquests with women; book ends in July, 1969; needs to write the next volume NOW!

Wyman, Bill. ROLLING WITH THE STONES (2002)*

-text and photos; a large book consisting of photographs, memorabilia, and anecdotes by Bill taken from his personal collection and diaries; different from Giuliano's, this book addresses more of the history related to the items presented (both in terms of Stones history and world history) up to 1990 when Bill "retired."; while some of the information is obvious and seemingly simplistic, it is certainly still a highly recommended book
