To graduate with a Ph. D. degree in the EE program, students
must fulfil the following requirements:
First year
- Pass each of three components of the EE Graduate Core
Course with an average grade of B or better
- Obtain a grade of B or better in the Graduate Seminar
Course (BioSci 2540, or BioSci 2560)
- Achieve an overall level of performance sufficient to
warrant approval by the faculty for
continuation into the second year
- First year students are supported by
the department and are not required to teach
- Give a research presentation to the members of the Ecology and Evolution graduate program
Second year and beyond
Evaluations and Exams
- Students become official PhD candidates on passing the Comprehensive Examination.
- The Ph.D. degree is awarded on submission, oral defense and acceptance of a research dissertation.
