Cell Culture Facility |
The DNA Synthesis Center is a service facility that is fully equipped for the production of oligonucleotides of defined sequence. The center was established to serve the Pittsburgh area research community. It is located in 543 Crawford Hall and is supported by the University of Pittsburgh, the University of Pittsburgh Cancer Institute, Carnegie Mellon University, and the users of the center (consult our building floor plan for precise location within Crawford Hall). These oligonucleotides have facilitated a broad range of experimental techniques from DNA sequencing to site-directed mutagenesis and the physical biochemistry of DNA-protein interactions. Typically, users place orders with the center and receive their oligonucleotides within 24-48 hours; oligos are delivered to laboratories in the Oakland area of Pittsburgh at no additional charge. Users can conveniently place oligonucleotide orders using the Department of Biological Sciences Oligo Order Form; the current pricing schedule is shown below.
