Journals
The journal collection consists of approximately 565 nineteenth- and twentieth-century periodical titles, about half of which are single issues. The earliest date from the 1840s. There are also numerous small runs, a few newspapers, and a few larger, broken runs. An Index to the Periodicals Contained in the Foster Hall Collection (1991) is available. As well, all journals are cataloged in PITTCAT and on OCLC.
Newspapers
Large format nineteenth century newspapers include Harper's Weekly (1864), The New York Clipper (1850-1851), New York Clarion (Sept. - Dec. 1849), and Spirit of the Times (1850-1851), all of which are cataloged in PITTCAT and on OCLC.
