My current area of research involves mechanical testing of the native porcine pulmonary heart valve. Currently, I am investigating the microstructural response of the native pulmonary valve to pressure loading and to access creep during glutaraldehyde fixation. With this information, I will compare the pulmonary valve microstructure to the previously researched aortic valve microstructure.
Additionally, I plan to begin research on the bicuspid aortic heart valve microstructure employing the Small Angle Light Scattering device (SALS) in my research.
